GE Vernova's 2025 Annual Report — "The Energy of Change"
February 18, 2026 · 3 min read · MagikDev Team
We just finished reading GE Vernova’s 2025 Annual Report — “The Energy of Change” — and our team had to share some thoughts.
Scott Strazik calls this an “investment supercycle” that parallels globalization and the advent of the Internet. That’s a bold statement, and after going through the numbers and the strategy, it’s hard to disagree. $38B in revenue, $150B in total backlog, and orders up 35% year over year. The demand for grid modernization is real and accelerating.
What stood out to us most was the Electrification segment — orders up 23%, revenue up 28%, and the equipment backlog quadrupling to $35B in just four years with expectations to double again by 2028. This is where the Smallworld GNM platform lives, and this is where we live every day.
The report makes it clear: there is no single solution to the energy transition. It requires grid software, AI, automation, and deep integration across systems. As an official GE Vernova partner specialising in Smallworld Geospatial Network Management, this validates exactly what we see on the ground with our utility and telecom clients.
We also appreciated the emphasis on Electrification Software — supporting the transmission, distribution, and orchestration of electricity from generation to consumption. That’s the backbone of what we help our clients implement and optimise.
“Scott’s take on the electricity supercycle and the urgency to modernise grid infrastructure — I see this unfolding exactly as he describes. The utilities we work with are feeling this demand every day, and the backlog numbers confirm it.” — Ronaldo Terra, CEO @ MagikDev
“The report’s emphasis on AI, software, and data as key enablers for the grid of the future aligns perfectly with our Assistant product for Smallworld GNM. We’re building solutions today for the transformation GE Vernova is describing.” — Walter Cherfem, CIO @ MagikDev
As a proud GE Vernova and Microsoft partner, we’re energised by this direction. The future of utilities is digital, and we’re here to help clients unlock the full potential of Smallworld GNM.
